About Me
Hello I’m Fiona Lochhead
I hold a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a Higher National Diploma in Counselling. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
My practice is grounded in a person-centred approach which means that the sessions are guided by what you want. I currently work with adults aged 18 and over.
I believe that everyone deserves a safe supportive and non-judgemental space in which they can explore life’s challenges and discover their own path forward.
I love nature and the outdoors, and I cover miles with my two terriers. Connecting with nature and with people are my favourite things.

Direction
Feeling Stuck?
Life transitions and events can leave us feeling stuck at times. I draw upon integrative counselling methods to meet client’s individual needs.
Sometimes life can leave us feeling uncertain, overwhelmed or at a crossroads. Together we can explore your thoughts and feelings, helping you to find a direction and make choices that feel right for you.
Navigating change with that support can help you to reconnect with your strengths and build confidence.
Whatever has brought you to counselling, you don’t have to face it alone. Finding a way forward doesn’t mean having all the answers, but together we can explore the challenges and make sense of what’s going on for you.

Background
Who am I?
I worked as a teacher of additional needs (ASN) in both primary and secondary schools in Moray for 20 years. I hold a Post-Graduate qualification in Inclusion which informs my understanding of neurodivergence and the impact of the school environment upon young people and their families.
My experience of training with Moray Rape Crisis has given me experience of supporting individuals affected by sexual violence and trauma.
More recently I have been employed by the children’s charity ‘Children First’ to work with children and families who are experiencing challenges in their lives.
I bring years of expertise in the field of neurodivergence and this in turn impacts my approach to counselling work.

Testimonials
Counselling
Talking with Fiona helped immensely. I’ve been able to feel safe and open up while discussing and processing difficult emotions caused by a family crisis. I felt safe opening up with no fear of being judged.
Walk & Talk
When I first talked with Fiona I felt stuck and angry. Fiona helped me to work things through and I felt able to move forward. She is calm, a good listener and easy to chat with. I really enjoyed our walk and talk sessions.
Tapping
I had 3 tapping sessions with Fiona. I felt a safe release of energy from an emotionally painful experience that had been stored up since childhood. this movement helped me to express and feel my feelings.
